A Phasmophobia film adaptation is on the way after developer Kinetic Games announced a partnership with Blumhouse and Atomic Monster. The horror game launched into Early Access on Steam on September 18, 2025, and has since sold over 23 million copies across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Kinetic Games, Blumhouse, and Atomic Monster have announced a partnership to develop a Phasmophobia film adaptation. Kinetic’s psychological horror has recently surpassed 23 million sales across PC and consoles and is still in Early Access.
The horror game has become a genre-defining title and continues to evolve, with the Chronicle overhaul update launching on June 24, 2025, which will introduce map reworks and add all-new features to the game.
What We Know About the Phasmophobia Movie
Working with Blumhouse, known for M3gan and the Five Night at Freddy’s film, and Atomic Monster, the production company for The Conjuring universe, Kinetic Games director Daniel Knight said it “marks an incredible new chapter for the game, and we can’t wait to share more as the project develops,” in a statement.
So far, there is no information regarding a potential release date, director, cast, or storyline. However, Knight has called the film “the start of something really exciting.”
