Experience the biggest update for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024! Dive into new features and find out if Career Mode is finally fixed.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 launched to high anticipation, wowing players with stunning visuals, realistic flight physics, and an expanded career mode. While critics praised its ambition, the release was marred by technical issues. Career mode glitches, login errors, progression bugs, and frequent crashes frustrated players, overshadowing its initial success.
In response, Microsoft has rolled out regular updates to address these problems. Today’s latest patch is the biggest update to date and aims to fix most issues, improve stability, and refine gameplay.
What’s Included in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Latest Update?
The latest update for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, version 1.2.7.0, brings a lot of bug fixes and performance improvements to address player-reported issues since launch. Notable enhancements include fixes to career mode crashes, lever interaction errors, and stability issues during scientific missions and EFB usage. Memory optimization has significantly reduced out-of-memory crashes, particularly on Xbox, while login and progression-related bugs including slow loading times and incorrect mission displays have also been resolved.
Performance improvements include optimized boot times, reduced stuttering, and improved hardware compatibility with devices like the Tobii Eye Tracker and NVIDIA DLSS.
Marketplace content management has also been revamped, allowing players to enable or disable 2020 ported content individually. A “new” Safe Mode feature was introduced too to help recover from crashes.

Is MFS 2024 Career Mode Fixed?
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024’s career mode has been a focal point for many players, offering structured missions and progression within the expansive simulation. However, it has been plagued by numerous bugs and performance issues since its release.
Players have reported problems like aircraft systems malfunctioning mid-mission leading to crashes, and severe turbulence during career missions, making aircraft control exceedingly difficult. Some players also have experienced long loading times, unresponsive career mode interfaces, and issues with ATC not accepting new flight plans, forcing landings on unsuitable runways.
With the update 1.2.7.0, fixes for crashes related to the audio system, FX system, lever interactions, and scientific research missions have been resolved and should help the stability of the career mode.
Despite these efforts however, some players continue to experience issues. Reports of career mode being unplayable due to long loading times persist and certain aircraft remain stuck at 0% fuel in career mode, with keybinds to add fuel proving ineffective. But the community has shared bug avoidance measures like being cautious when skipping the taxi stage, as it can lead to “aircraft crashed” screens.
In a way to ease growing concerns, the MFS Community Manager has started a new career in the game live on Twitch too.
