Building the Ultimate Rush Squad
Milestone and Mattel have detailed the core gameplay loop for their upcoming arcade racer Hot Wheels Infinite Rush. The latest “Beyond the Track” update confirms that players will not be restricted to a single vehicle during free-roaming exploration.
Instead, the game introduces the Rush Squad, a dynamic team of four cars that players can swap between instantly to tackle different terrain and challenges. This system is deeply tied to the campaign structure. Across the four interconnected islands, players will face off against rival crews.
Defeating individual Rushers unlocks head-to-head battles against the island’s Rush Master, rewarding players by adding the defeated boss vehicles to their growing garage.

How Do Vehicle Classes Work in Hot Wheels Infinite Rush?
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush features four distinct vehicle classes: Drifters for cornering and drift-based boost, Speeders for maximum velocity, Titans for raw power and rapid boost regeneration, and Versatiles for balanced, all-around performance. Players equip one of each in their active Rush Squad.
According to the official Milestone announcement, Titans introduce a unique mechanic where completely draining their Boost Charge results in a temporary speed penalty. This forces players to manage their energy tactically rather than simply holding down the accelerator during long stretches.

What Customization Options Are Available?
Players can personalize their vehicles using the Creativity Corner, which includes comprehensive Sticker and Livery editors. Beyond standard visual modifications like wheels and rims, the game allows players to customize the visual and sound effects of their vehicle’s boost and dash abilities.
A dedicated perk system is also present, allowing racers to fine-tune their vehicle’s performance stats to match their specific playstyle on the track.
With the game launching on September 10, 2026, across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch 2, with Early Access starting September 7. And Milestone promising further details and dedicated videos in the coming weeks.
