AION 2 and WoW Forever Open Tests Today, but Their Entry Rules Could Not Differ
On 17 September 2026, AION 2 opens its two-day Launch Scale Test, while World of Warcraft: Forever begins its beta at 19:00 Paris time. Guaranteed WoW Forever access is tied to the Collector’s Edition and other qualifying editions.
Two MMO tests begin on 17 September, but their entry requirements are very different. NC’s official AION 2 notice confirms that the Launch Scale Test runs from 17 to 18 September after the pre-download period. It gives players a chance to try AION 2 before its 5 October launch without requiring a premium edition.
World of Warcraft: Forever takes a more restricted approach. Blizzard’s official Forever page lists the beta as starting on 17 September, while the Collector’s Edition announcement explains which editions qualify. As covered in AKS’s 14 September report, guaranteed Collector access starts at 19:00 Paris time and the beta level cap is 30.

Which Test Fits You?
The choice comes down to how you want to access the test. Pick AION 2 if you want to play immediately during its open Launch Scale Test on 17 and 18 September before the 5 October release. World of Warcraft: Forever is for players with a qualifying Collector’s Edition or related edition who can start at 19:00 Paris time. AION 2 may not suit you if a short pre-launch test holds little appeal, while WoW Forever is less relevant if the required edition and level 30 cap are not worth it.
