The team at Saber Interactive has finally released the new Update 5.0 for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. An update bringing numerous additions and the new Operation Obelisk.

With a powerful launch on 9 September 2024, Saber Interactive continues to update the new Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. The second entry in the Warhammer 40K Space Marine series that, over 13 years after the original release, puts us back in the shoes of the famous Space Marines.

Featuring a fun campaign and a co-op multiplayer mode to face hordes of enemies. With a solid chapter in the shoes of the renown Space Marines of the Warhammer 40K series. In a fun third-person shooter that is renewed with the new Operation Obelisk update.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 – The New Operation Obelisk Arrives

With the Official Announcement on 10th December 2024, Saber Interactive delivers the new Update 5.0 for Space Marine 2. This major game update includes new additions such as a new operation, weapon balancing, and various fixes.

The update is showcased with a spectacular new trailer released for the occasion. With numerous additions that are entirely free, fans can get their hands on it for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC starting 10 December.

Space Marine 2 – Operation Obelisk and New Game Content

The largest and most significant content in the new Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 update is the new Operation Obelisk. A new operation that takes us to Demerium, with the goal of disrupting the energy flow powering the Aurora.

The mission runs parallel to the final events of the main campaign, requiring players to delve into the catacombs to reach the Obelisk control room. Alongside the new operation, there’s also the arrival of a formidable new enemy: Tzaangor Enlightened. Enemies capable of flying mid-air with both melee and ranged attacks.

Space Marine 2 – New Content in the Dark Angels Chapter Pack

Along with the new Update 5.0, we also get new cosmetic content in the Dark Angels Chapter Pack. A new DLC that adds more customization options, including:

• Dark Angels Successor Chapters: 8 New Skins available
• Dark Angels Champion Skin: A new armor for the Bulwark complete with Shield
• Dark Angels Weapon Skins: New Dark Angel-themed skins for Auto Bolt Rifle, Plasma Pistol, Power Sword, and Bulwark’s Storm Shield

Additionally, new unlockable cosmetic content, including the fan-favorite Mark VIII Ravenwing Helmet! Plus, 15 new color options for your Battle Helmet’s lenses!

Space Marine 2 Gets PS5 Pro Support and PC Updates

One last fantastic piece of news is the support for PS5 Pro. With the new Operation Obelisk, Saber Interactive adds native support for PS5 Pro. Capable of achieving 60 fps in Performance Mode and 30 fps in Quality Mode with upscaled 4K resolution, thanks to PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution.

Simultaneously, the team also confirms the arrival of Frame Generation with DLSS3 and FSR3.1 on PC. All in all, an eagerly awaited final update for 2024 on Space Marine 2, with 2025 set to kick off the Season 3.
