EA has officially revealed they are working on the next-gen sims game as The Sims 5 announced.

EA has officially revealed The Sims 5 is in development under the working title of Project Rene.

Confirming the rumors that The Sims 5 is in development, VP of Franchise Creative for The Sims Lyndsay Pearson stated they wanted to announce it early to make players a “part” of the development journey.

Sharing a few details, EA showed off a new flexible building system that allows for improved customization and placements of individual furniture pieces, such as cushions.

The reveal of The Sims 5 did not come with a planned release date, or in fact, which platforms the next Sims game will likely release on.

It’s clear that The Sims 5 may not release for a few years yet; when it does, it will likely be on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
