S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2: Heart of Chornobyl is the highly anticipated new chapter of the Stalker saga by GSC Game World. A game offering an open world set in an alternate history in the Exclusion Zone of Chornobyl. We find ourselves once again in the dangerous, contaminated zone, about 10 years after the events of Call of Pripyat.

As the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Skif, embarks on a new survival adventure that is as impressive as it is challenging. Struggling with a troubled development, Stalker 2 was finally released on 20th November 2024, immediately winning the hearts of many. It has now become one of the games that defined 2024. However, it won’t be present at The Game Awards of 2024, but rather next year’s edition.

About 3 weeks after its release, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl finally receives its Accolades Trailer. A trailer that encapsulates all the reviews and praise from the gaming press. Not only confirming its great success with players, but also recognition from the media.

With a flood of praise, from the unique atmosphere of the Exclusion Zone, the dangers, and a survival adventure like no other. A highly appreciated launch, but not without bugs and performance issues. The GSC team is dedicated to fixing them with various updates, like the recent 1.03 update, which fixed the RAM memory leak problem on PC.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl – One of the GOTY 2025 Contenders and Upcoming Features

With a release date at the end of the year, Stalker 2 was unable to participate in The Game Awards 2024. with the TGA that will take place on 12 December 2024, at 4:30 PM PT / 7:30 PM ET (13 December at 1:30 AM CET). Although Stalker 2 could have participated before the nomination deadline of 22nd November 2024. As for some reason, it was closed earlier this time around.

Stalker 2 is certainly one of the contenders for GOTY 2025, although the new year is very competitive with a lineup tha already counts Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Monster Hunter Wilds, and a possible release of the titan GTA 6. For 2025, the GSC team certainly has many exciting updates planned for Stalker 2, including the launch of the Multiplayer mode as a free update.
