Ghost of Yōtei New Game Plus and New Content Coming in Free Update Next Week
Sucker Punch has announced that the highly anticipated New Game Plus (NG+) mode for Ghost of Yōtei will come inside a free update next week, along with two new trophies, quality-of-life improvements, and new content.
Ghost of Yōtei has proven a massive success for Sony since its launch on PS5, selling 3.3 million copies in its first month, and developer Sucker Punch is keen to keep the momentum moving forward with an update that will finally add New Game Plus.
The NG+ mode will be added to the action-adventure game for free on November 24, and will be joined by bug fixes, two new difficulty options, a new in-game currency, two new trophies, and new cosmetics.
Exploring New Game Plus Mode
New Game Plus will be available to players once they complete the main story, introducing two new difficulty options and trophies exclusive to NG+ that encourage players to master the combat and play through Atsu’s quest for vengeance again.
Deciding to play through New Game Plus will offer players the new Ghost Flowers currency, which they can spend to unlock new rewards throughout their more difficult journey.
Introducing Ghost Flowers and Cosmetics
Ghost Flowers is an all-new currency that players can exchange with a new vendor found in NG+ to unlock over 30 new cosmetics, including armor sets, weapon dyes, and ten new charms for customizing your loadout.
Additionally, the upcoming free update will introduce another earnable tier of upgrades to existing armor sets and weapons.
New Photo Mode Features and Base Game QOL
Sucker Punch isn’t stopping at New Game Plus, as the base game also receives free updates. Players can now replay post-game content, perfect for practicing skills, reliving great moments, or tracking stats with the new display.
There are quality-of-life improvements for directional button remapping, and Photo Mode is getting all-new features, including shutter speed, a composition grid, and brand-new filters.
