Netmarble’s team is back with a new trailer for Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, which, along with fresh news about the game, also announces the Closed Beta.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is an action RPG game by Netmarble, arriving in 2025. Initially revealed at G-Star in November 2024, it was officially announced at The Game Awards 2024, confirming its 2025 release.

The game takes us into the epic world of Game of Thrones, the famous HBO TV series based on George R. R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire novels. It offers an adventure in Westeros with an action RPG approach and open-world elements. Players will meet various characters from the series in a parallel storyline.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad – The New Gameplay Trailer

Netmarble’s team finally returns with new updates about their Game of Thrones: Kingsroad. Developed in collaboration with HBO and Warner Bros Interactive, it aims to bring the Game of Thrones universe to an action RPG format. The new trailer gives us a glimpse of gameplay and more details about the title.

It appears to be a true action RPG with an open world. Players will follow events parallel to the TV series, meeting iconic characters while exploring Westeros from a new perspective. The game will offer three playable classes: Knight, Sellsword, and Assassin.

GoT Kingsroad – PC Launch and Closed Beta Registration

There was initial confusion regarding Game of Thrones: Kingsroad’s launch platforms. Initially speculated to release only on Android and iOS, Netmarble has now confirmed a PC version available via their dedicated launcher.

A Closed Beta will also be available for players in the USA, Canada, and Europe, with the exact list provided on the official website. The CBT will take place from 16 to 22 January 2025, with registration open from 7 to 12 January. The team also revealed the system requirements for the Closed Beta:

PC (Minimum Requirements)

CPU: Intel Core i7 9700 / Ryzen 5 5500
RAM: 8GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 6GB / AMD Radeon RX 5700XT
HDD: 30GB

Android (Minimum Requirements)

Device: Samsung Galaxy S20 or similar
RAM: 8GB

The requirements are not overly demanding but confirm that iOS devices will not have access to this Closed Beta. However, this may change in future Betas or based on region.

Initial impressions of Netmarble’s game have not been overwhelmingly positive. The lack of a PC version initially disappointed many fans, who were eager for a game set in the captivating world of Game of Thrones.

However, the confirmation of a PC version and an upcoming Closed Beta may increase interest in the game. Beyond what has been revealed so far, we know little, especially about the monetization approach in Game of Thrones: Kingsroad.
