WILL THERE BE A FIFA 23?

EA will once more release another football game next in 2023. However, it appears it may not have the FIFA name for the first time.

In October last year, EA stated they could be moving away from the FIFA name as a trademark filing revealed EA had put forward EA Sports FC.

FIFA themselves have also publicly revealed they are communicating with various developers and investors outside of EA.

Whether a new name will affect the use of real names is yet to be seen, as EA does hold license agreements for leagues, players, and stadiums.

EA’s plan to break away from the FIFA name is not all bad, as it does give them more freedom in how to use the licenses they hold.

That includes the addition of more women’s football and crossplay between all platforms for the first time.

Crossplay has been clamored for by fans for years, as putting PlayStation, Xbox, and PC players all on the same servers will increase competition and allow friends to play across multiple platforms.

There are also rumors that the game could be free-to-play as EA looks for a model that will better capitalize on their established microtransaction system in the series.

And finally, EA also confirmed that the Hypermotion Technology introduced with FIFA 22 has been “enhanced tenfold” and can now capture animations during real matches.
