About this game

First Contact is a story pack DLC for Stellaris it contains brand new content including a set of new origins and mechanics that give players the chance to tell stories about their civilization’s early encounters with other visitors from the stars, including some that may not come in peace.

• New Origins:
  • Broken Shackles – Your people have been forcibly taken from your home as slaves, but now you and you and your fellow prisoners have taken over the ship and found yourselves banding together to survive and thrive as a diverse new community. Will you be able to rise to the challenge with your humble origins?
  • Payback – The planet has been invaded by alien beings that are far more advanced than your own, but despite the massive disadvantage, your species repelled them. Now your civilization has sudden access to powerful technology, it’s time to see what else is beyond the stars!
  • Fear of the Dark – Your civilization has always suspected that you weren’t alone in the universe, especially when one of your planets suddenly suffered an “incident” a while back, a very large and vocal faction of your people has long advocated against exploring what’s out there. What path will you choose when your civilization finds itself needing more room to grow?
• Brand new pre-FTL interaction options – Aside from the new origins there are several new mechanics for you to play with that allow a broader range of interactions with pre-FTL civilization’s depending on their level of technology and awareness of your presence. Will your presence be celebrated or met with violent panic?
• You may now equip your ships with powerful cloaking devices so you can survey and explore in secret or catch your enemies unaware; keep subtle tabs on your pre-FTL neighbors using cloaked observation posts, but be careful your enemies can do so as well.
