Xbox Games Showcase delivered big reveals: ROG Ally, Black Ops 7, Silksong, and more. Here’s everything announced during the June 8 event!
Last week was one for the books. Whether you’re Team PlayStation, Xbox loyal, or simply love gaming in all its forms, the weekend delivered a win for everyone. Between the big reveals from PlayStation’s State of Play and the powerhouse showing from the Xbox Games Showcase, it felt like the entire industry was firing on all cylinders. We’ve already recapped the PlayStation event, so now it’s time to take a full look at everything Xbox brought to the table.
Xbox Games Showcase Recap
The Xbox Games Showcase went live on June 8 and immediately kicked off with nonstop announcements. It was followed by a dedicated showcase for The Outer Worlds 2, and later, the PC Gaming Show which featured a big moment of its own with the unveiling of GOG’s One-Click Modding system. But let’s stay on track with Xbox for now because there’s plenty to unpack.
One of the most talked-about announcements which was leaked earlier this year, was the official reveal of the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. This marks Xbox’s bold step into handheld gaming which many predict is the future of the industry. To make that moment even bigger, it was revealed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch day one on Game Pass and will be a launch title for the Ally. While no specific release date was shared, the confirmation alone was enough.
The showcase also delivered major core franchise moments including the official reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Out of nowhere too, Grounded 2 was announced, bringing a sequel to one of the most creatively beloved survival games in recent years. In another unexpected twist, Final Fantasy XVI was not only confirmed for Xbox but shadow-dropped and made available immediately following the showcase. And yes, after months of speculation, Persona 4 Revival was also finally confirmed to be in development.
While Halo didn’t make an appearance during the show, speculation was high after Phil Spencer’s closing tease. As he outlined what’s to come in 2026, he mentioned Forza, Fable, Gears of War: E-Day, and most notably “the return of a classic that’s been with us since the beginning.” Like with many, that sounded like Halo to us.
Before we jump too far into the future, let’s go back to 2025, particularly October which is looking stacked. Keeper, Ninja Gaiden 4, and The Outer Worlds 2 are all launching day one on Game Pass that month. But even more exciting, every new title revealed during the showcase is part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program.
