The Game Developers Choice Awards have wrapped up, and if you’ve been following the awards circuit over the past year, the outcome will feel very familiar. Clair Obscur Expedition 33 once again walked away with several major wins. Just like in many events throughout last year, the acclaimed RPG also secured the night’s biggest honor, the Game of the Year.
Winners of Game Developers Choice Awards 2026
The Game Developers Choice Awards are widely considered one of the most respected recognitions in the industry. Rather than critics or media outlets, the votes come from game developers themselves, like people who work across design, programming, art, and production throughout the industry.
That peer recognition is what makes the awards particularly special as the games being celebrated are judged by those who understand the craft behind them. But of course, the community still gets its moment through with the Audience Award.
The big story of the night was once again Clair Obscur Expedition 33. The RPG continued its awards streak by claiming multiple trophies including Game of the Year, adding yet another GOTY award under its belt.
Across the nine categories at this year’s ceremony, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 took home five awards in total. Blue prince, another standout title from last year won 2, while Death Stranding 2, Consume Me, and And Roger each won 1 award.
