Why Was Xbox Cloud Gaming Down?

Xbox Cloud Gaming Global Outage
Just a few hours ago, players began reporting issues accessing Xbox Cloud Gaming. From Reddit threads to X posts, it quickly became clear that this wasn’t a localized problem. Despite the growing chatter, Xbox Support was slower to respond than many had hoped, and it took a while before Microsoft officially updated the Xbox status page to reflect a “major outage” under the cloud gaming service.

The situation remained unresolved for hours, leaving players frustrated. Most reported that they couldn’t access any cloud-streamed titles except Fortnite, which strangely remained playable for some users. Others, however, couldn’t launch Fortnite either, confirming the inconsistency of the outage across the platform.
Eventually, Xbox Support posted on X, acknowledging the widespread disruption and stating that they were actively “investigating” the issue. However, no further details have been provided yet about the root cause behind the downtime.
As of now, service has been restored for many players, and the Xbox status page no longer lists cloud gaming as affected. That said, a small number of users are still experiencing some problems, suggesting the issue may not be entirely resolved across the board.
