Ubisoft finally shows off Skull and Bones, as it looks to better Sea of Thieves as the best pirate game ever.

SKULL & BONES: A PIRATE’S LIFE FOR ME

Ubisoft finally releases a new trailer for Skull and bones after months of silence on the open-world pirate game.

Ten years in development, Skull and bones sees you enter the world of piracy as an outcast before you Swashbuckle your way into infamy and legend.

Skull & Bones lets you “assemble your very own formidable fleet and use it to build your empire in a visceral world that introduces new challenges, stories, and features every season.”

A live-service game, Ubisoft expects most people to sail the seas with friends, although you can play it solo and promise continual support and daily, weekly, and seasonal content.

The general goal of the game is to raise your infamy by completing contracts, exploring, gathering raw resources, plundering, finding treasure, and much more.

But, be warned, it’s not just other pirates you need to worry about, as danger comes in many forms, such as rogue waves, wildlife, and unexpected weather changes.

High risk comes with great rewards, and you can customize your pirate with the treasure you find, improve your ship, and build your fleet with the rewards you earn.

Skull & Bones may be competing with Sea of Thieves, which launched in 2018, but Ubisoft promises a darker and more profound experience in a world where “everything and everyone wants you dead.”
