Persona 5: The Phantom X (P5X) is a new spin-off chapter of the Persona 5 universe. Developed by P-Studio (Atlus) in collaboration with Black Wings Game Studio (Perfect World). First revealed in 2021 as Code Name: X, it’s a gacha-style F2P adventure of the famous series.
The game launched in China, Korea, and Taiwan in April 2024, taking us to a parallel universe to Persona 5, following protagonist Wonder in a Tokyo where people’s desires have been stolen. Persona 5: The Phantom X – Now Available
With the release date announcement in May 2025, today finally marks the launch of the Global Version of Persona 5: The Phantom X. The new spin-off adventure from P5, where we’ll follow a new group of Phantom Thieves in Tokyo. The game is available F2P starting today, on June 26, 2025 on PC and mobile devices.
With the trailer “Phantom Thief Life” showing us what to expect from P5X. In this new adventure, we’ll see the return of the classic JRPG turn-based system from Persona 5, battling through the Mementos. But also the return of Palaces and the Velvet Room, along with our daily student life activities and various characters to interact with.
Persona 5: The Phantom X – Gameplay and Main Features
P5X thus offers an experience especially designed for fans of the series, particularly those of Persona 5. Taking us to a parallel version of Tokyo where people’s desires have been stolen. And as Wonder (Nagisa Kamishiro) we’ll need to steal the Treasures that have corrupted the hearts of some individuals. Offering the following:
- Gameplay: Enjoy the classic JRPG experience of Persona. Using enemy type combinations, weaknesses, and immunities. Including classic All-Out Attacks and Combos, while still featuring the story and daily student life activities.
- Rediscover Tokyo: Visit familiar locations from P5 like Shibuya and Yongen-Jaya, but also explore new areas like Zoshigaya and enjoy side activities like playing soccer or music.
- Mementos and Palaces: The return of Mementos, with new challenges and Shadows waiting for us. New Palaces are also part of the main story, where we’ll infiltrate and steal the Treasures that have twisted the hearts of certain individuals, with surprises and combat.
- Many Characters: A large cast of new characters, as we follow Wonder on his journey. Many new companions to recruit as Phantom Thieves, and the Phantom Idol characters, who come with Personas that we can obtain, alongside the original Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload cast.
Accompanied by a reworked Calendar system and a new Stamina system, as well as recruitable characters obtained from the Banner system.
