Max Caulfield and Chloe Price reunite in Life is Strange: Reunion

Square Enix has officially confirmed what fans have demanded for a decade. Life is Strange: Reunion launches on March 26, 2026, bringing Max Caulfield and Chloe Price together for the definitive finale of their saga.

Developing studio Deck Nine Games revealed the title during the 20th January livestream. The game arrives on PC (Steam/Windows), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S with a surprisingly budget-friendly price tag.

Life is Strange: Reunion Story Details

After the events of 2024’s Life is Strange: Double Exposure, Max Caulfield returns to Caledon University as a photography teacher. But peace is short-lived. A massive fire threatens the campus, claiming the lives of friends and students.

Max escapes death by reigniting her original supernatural ability: the Rewind.

She isn’t alone this time. Chloe Price returns, brought back into reality after Max merged disparate timelines in the previous game. Chloe retains memories of a past she never lived and seeks answers.

For the first time in franchise history, both characters are playable. You will swap perspectives to solve the mystery. Max manipulates time to solve four-dimensional puzzles, while Chloe uses her “Backtalk” mechanic to break down social barriers and access areas Max cannot reach.

LiS: Reunion Editions and Prices

Square Enix and Deck Nine are breaking the $70 trend. Revealing that the Standard Edition of Life is Strange: Reunion will launch at $39.99. This aggressive pricing strategy positions the game as an accessible entry point for lapsed fans, coming cheaper than Double Exposure.

Here is the breakdown of the launch versions:

  • Standard Edition ($39.99): Base game.
  • Deluxe Edition ($49.99): Includes digital soundtrack, art book, comic, and a behind-the-scenes documentary.
  • Twin Pack ($59.99): Includes Reunion AND Life is Strange: Double Exposure.
  • Collector’s Edition ($99.99): Physical goods including a 12″ vinyl soundtrack and “Drugstore Makeup” poster.

The Twin Pack offers the highest value for newcomers. For just $20 more than the base game, you get the direct predecessor, Double Exposure, essentially catching you up on the entire modern arc instantly.

Verdict: Is The Final Chapter for Max and Chloe Worth It?

This announcement signals a major pivot for the series. By confirming this as the “finale to the Max and Chloe saga,” Square Enix is offering closure rather than an open-ended serial.

The return of the Rewind mechanic addresses the primary criticism of recent entries, which often relied on more passive powers. Combining this with a $40 entry point makes Reunion a highly competitive release in the 2026 calendar.

Will you be picking up the Twin Pack to catch up, or are you diving straight into the finale?
