The upcoming remaster of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 has many fans chomping at the bit. But as its release date of October 24 approaches, many are wondering if it is locked at 30 FPS.

WHAT’S INSIDE THE MASTER COLLECTION?

The Master Collection Vol. 1 includes:

• Metal Gear
• Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
• Metal Gear Solid (Including VR Missions/Special Missions)
• Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (HD Collection version)
• Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (HD Collection version)
• Metal Gear (NES/FC version)
• Snake’s Revenge

CAPPED FRAMERATE

Although disappointing, the Metal Gear remaster will be locked at 30 FPS on all platforms, including on PC. There may also be framerate drops during cutscenes and gameplay moments with lots of effects, according to Konami.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will run at 60 FPS at 1080p. It may not quite be 4K, but at least we’re finally getting them on modern hardware.

RELEASE DATE

Konami’s Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 releases on October 24 and is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
