The Gran Turismo World Series 2026 Round 2 had plenty going on this weekend with the Manufacturers Cup and Nations Cup broadcasts bringing the latest round of the championship to fans around the world. Polyphony Digital also gave viewers another reason to tune in by running its Viewers Gift Campaign again which offers a fresh pair of exclusive stealth cars.
The Round 2 event and its live broadcast went as planned but the Viewers Gift Campaign did a bit of a deja vu when the servers crashed, similar to what happened in Round 1. The server issues started as soon as the Manufacturers Cup stream began on August 15, prompting the team to quickly acknowledge the issue and post an update on the official website.
This downtime prevented fans from submitting their entries to receive the much coveted stealth cars, the Toyota FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.3) and the Mazda 787B ’91. These limited edition cars are never going to be sold in GT7, so as one can imagine, the demand was high. And so, the server issues weren’t much of a surprise. But considering the same thing happened just two months ago, you’d think there was a better system in place. But that’s okay, everyone got their cars for Round 1, so this mishap shouldn’t be a cause of major concern.
However, this looks like a bigger issue than in June. Polyphony Digital posted yesterday that they are still investigating the issue and are temporarily suspending entries for the campaign. Luckily, the submission period is until August 31, 2026 so there’s still plenty of time to fix the problem and for players to claim the cars.
