Endless Legend 2 releases in Early Access today. Here’s everything to know about the launch including what time it unlocks on Game Pass

Endless Legend 2, the sequel to the award-winning 4X strategy game, is releasing in Early Access today. Available on PC, this latest game from Amplitude Studios is set to make any strategy and empire-building fan glued to their screens once again. And for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC members, you get to do this for free.

Endless Legend 2 Out On Early Access

Even before its early access launch, Endless Legend 2 has already been making waves thanks to the demo and playtests, some gamers were let in on. So much so that PC Gamer recently published an article saying that the game might even be their favorite 4X game.

The Steam demo is still downloadable if you want to give it a try before buying the game. But this of course isn’t an issue if you’re subscribed to Ultimate of PC Game Pass as Endless Legend 2 is one of the day-one launches this month.

The game officially launches in early access on September 22, 2025 at 6AM PT / 2PM BST / 3PM CEST.

This early access version gets its core from the first game but with a new world, new factions, and new challenges. It will feature some mechanics from role playing games and tactical games but the team clarifies it isn’t an RPG or a wargame.

There will be five playable factions which includes the defensive minded Kin of Sheredyn, the diplomatic Aspects, the economic powerhouse Last Lords, the mad scientist Tahuk, and the warmongering Necrophage. More factions are planned as the game moves to full release.

Also expected to be implemented post-launch are multiplayer, creating custom factions, and support for Steam Deck. No mention yet if the game will eventually have a console release.
