Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Season 6 Details

While everyone is gearing up and getting increasingly excited for the release of COD Black Ops 6, let’s take a moment from that and bask in the launch of Modern Warfare 3 Season 6.

This is the latest and last season for the game which will be unlocked today, September 18, 2024.

Season 6 is here with new weapons, new skins, new maps, and COD’s annual Halloween event, The Hunting. Since there is A LOT of content for this season, let’s go through them by game.


Call

Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Content Update

First off, the joint content updated for both. There are 2 new weapons, the DTIR 30-06 battle rifle, and the Kastov LSW light machine gun. The former has a slow fire rate which helps you save ammo and inflict heavy damage precisely, and the latter has a high fire rate, fast reload speed, and is specialized for close combat.

There are also new aftermarket parts this season, there’s the JAK Salvo compatible for the KATT-AMR, JAK Voltstorm compatible for the Stormender Launcher, and the JAK Lance compatible for the MAX Guardian Shotgun.

You can also expect new battle pass operators for S6 which includes Farah Karim, Michael Myers, Slamfire, and Alone.

  • The Haunting – Sept. 18 to Oct. 16
  • The Walking Dead: Road to Terminus – Sept. 25 to Oct. 2
  • Trick ‘r Treat – Oct. 2 to Oct. 16
  • Purgatory Island – Sept. 25 to Oct. 16
  • MWIII Rewind – Oct. 9 to Oct. 16
 

Modern Warfare 3 Content Update

Now, for the content update for Modern Warfare alone. We will see 2 new 6v6 core maps: Drive Thru and Mad Cow. The Drive through is a killer clown-themed restaurant, while the Mad Cow is a slaughterhouse from hell.

On top of that, there are five new shipment variants which includes Arena, Stay High, Bit-ment, Ghost Ship, Sunny Shipment. Plus, four new multiplayer modes: Arcade, Mutation, Infected, Hardpoint.

Warzone Content Update

COD Warzone has fewer updates but then again, the joint ones in the beginning of the article is quite a lot too. Warzone Season 6 will see two new maps: Hellspawn map variant on Rebirth Island and Vondel Night on Vondel. There are also two new modes which include Purgatory and Rebirth Island Resurgence for ranked play.

Zombies Content Update

Zombies also get some updates for Season 6. The Free Dark Aether Rift Runs will now be available to Operators for free right after completing the mission to unlock it. Meaning, you don’t have to offer a Sigil to access it anymore.

For all skins, weapons, and tokens you’ve acquired from COD MW3, unfortunately it will not carry over to Black Ops 6. The carry forward program ends with Modern Warfare 3 to ensure a fresh start and a truly authentic experience of BO6 with era-specific weapons, cosmetics, and scenarios.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Season 6 Release Time

Season 6 unlocks 5pm BST / 12pm EDT / 9am PDT on September 18, 2024. All updates will roll out on all platforms, and MW3 and Warzone Mobile, at the same time. Here are the specific times for different regions:


  • 9AM PDT for the west coast of North America
  • 12PM EDT for the east coast of North America
  • 5PM BST for the U.K.
  • 6PM CEST for western Europe / Paris
