Fans of the Zelda franchise, and more generally many Nintendo Switch owners, are eagerly awaiting this new opus, which is promised to be GOTY, just like its predecessor Breath of the Wild. An open world that we hope will be even more vast, full of secrets, interesting side quests, varied dungeons, with new gameplay, while taking up the recipe of BotW. Can the game be even better? Honestly I think so, it’s the details that make the difference.

That being said, the Switch’s hardware won’t make up for the game’s biggest flaw in my opinion, even if the Wii U is no longer part of the equation: the game’s technical level. Graphics, fluidity, framerate drops… you have to hold on if you’re used to playing in 120Hz and more on console/PC! And that’s a shame. But that’s the only big flaw I found in BotW.

After the huge success in 2017 with ,what is essentially another reboot for the franchise, Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda the long lasting and critically acclaimed series, is once again back with the upcoming Tears of the Kingdom.

Set again in the land of Hyrule, we’ll be able to fully explore new areas, mainly the skies with the new mysterious floating island in the sky of Hyrule. Thus giving a new sense of verticality along with new flying mechanics and vehicles. There won’t be any lack of new abilities ad weapons to unlock. Along with a new plot that seems to be more fleshed out and involving than the simple one in Botw; a plot that seems to reflect more the darker and mature atmosphere set by the beloved Twilight Princess and Majora’s Mask, and that we caught a glimpse in certain events in Breath of the Wild.

There’s still very little info on the game and Nintendo seems to be secretive about it until next month when it’s likely they’ll start rolling with juicy info and early reviews. The title got a price bump as per standard of the industry, although it’s a trend that definitely is not welcomed at all, so let’s see wait and see for more news before launch.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom has to be one of the most anticipated Switch releases this year! A direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, this title will take us on a breathtaking adventure in a wonderful world that can be discovered both on the ground and in the air.

Apart from the floating islands, the game will also feature new skills, weapons, enemy types and improved mechanics. It is certain that we will be able to spend dozens of hours exploring the environment and progressing in the story. Tears if the Kingdom is definitely an ambitious project, and if you own a Nintendo, you should absolutely try the entire series.

The sequel to perhaps the best Zelda games of all time, Breath of the Wild, sets a rather high bar for itself. The developers stick to the open world environment of Hyrule, but now you can traverse the sky, instead of just the land.

Link will gain a host of new powers due to a new magical arm. Not much information has been released, but it seems to be largely sticking to the same proven formula, but adding a new story and some new elements to keep the game fresh.

In this sequel to Breath of the Wild we once again explore the open world of Hyrule both by land and through the skies. The game takes many of the elements from it’s predecessor and also gives us new abilities where our imagination is key to finding combos and vast possibilities to progress. I’d like to join Link and Zelda in this adventure to save Hyrule from the evil forces that want to destroy it.
