Dynasties of the East is an expansion for AoE IV that won't introduce any truly new civilizations, but rather four variants of existing ones, all from the East. This may be the only slight disappointment for some, because the game does introduce new maps, biomes with visual tactical effects, and a single-player roguelite mode with various objectives. So it's quite substantial in terms of new content!
AoE4 is a great RTS game and a great strategy game always needs DLCs with more factions, so here it is Age of Empires 4 Dynasties of the East that brings Mongolia, Japan, India and Byzantium factions, with new units buildings and all the features of the base game. What also makes this DLC special is that it brings a new roguelite mode, with random boons after every mission with the usual difficulty progression. A very good DLC that is a must for owners of the base game without doubt
I somehow missed the 2nd DLC, putting aside AoE4 for several months. The upcoming extension, Age of Empires 4 Dynasties of the East, looks promising with its rich multiplayer and singleplayer content. We'll have new maps, beautiful biomes, 4 civilization and a brand new game mode. For the fans of the franchise, it must be a great addition to the base game!
