Cyberpunk 2077 ESRB Rating is M for Mature

Here is the Cyberpunk 2077 ESRB Rating!

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has officially rated CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 “M” for “mature”. The rating came with a very descriptive rating summary attached which pretty much confirms Cyberpunk 2077 is deserving of the mature rating attributed.

Apparently, the game has a very explicit Character Creator that allows players to edit even the very genitalia of custom characters. In addition, the rating board also detailed and referenced some intimate moments that are experienced from the first-person point of view. According to the ESRB, there are also many examples of excessive violence throughout the gameplay. All this plus the strong language of the script means that the game is just not a title for younger audiences that are more impressionable.

This rating won’t come as a surprise to anyone familiar with CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher series. It would appear that the developers found success in targeting more mature audiences. It seems like the move is more profitable than making softer titles that are available to the majority of gamers.

In case you don’t already know, Cyberpunk 2077 is an action-role-playing game that was published and developed by CD Projekt for PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, Xbox One and the Xbox Series X.

Cyberpunk 2077 is slated for release on September 17th of this year and CD Projekt is adamant that the game will release according to schedule despite the implications of the global pandemic that is COVID 19.
