Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA: Ninja Wars is a hack and slash action RPG where you pair up 10 characters and slice through enemy hordes, in this crossover game between the Neptunia franchise and Senran Kagura franchise developed by Idea Factory in collaboration with Compile Heart, and Tamsoft. As the struggle for control increased between the Daimyos of nations, tensions flare up between two great nations each of them home to a major school of martial arts. The Compa Style which has mastered the ninja arts based on the command technique, and the Honypa Style which has mastered the ninja arts rooted in the action technique as the two camps got bogged down in a ruthless competition of skills a mechanical army of ninjas showed up and attacked.

• Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA: Ninja Wars features two never before seen characters in both franchises Yuuki and Goh, quickly switch between the two characters you have chosen in the heat of battle.
• Each character possesses a unique set of skills, known as ninja art skills chain them together to leave your enemies in the dust, ninjas and shinobis are also armed with projectile weapons that can either deal physical damage or temporary status ailments to slow down enemies.
• Complete the peaches and cream meditation mini-game to get extra stat boosts during battle. Or test your skills in the post-game content Yomi-training mode where you play through 8 different trials, each set with its own difficult restrictions.

You can’t help but think that both properties could have grown to become more than this, but taking as it is, it’s still entertaining nonsense, with a heavy emphasis on the “entertaining”. I play enough serious games that require deep analysis, this kind of thing is my ideal break time between them.

It was entertaining and easy to learn though, but if you aren’t a fan of either franchise it can be hard to understand. While the game was an absolute delight, there isn’t enough content to make this the best crossover ever. Hopefully, with Ninja Wars being the start, there will be something more in the future.
