The remaster of the original Dark Souls, which includes the main game plus Artorias of the Abyss DLC. It’s an RPG with punishing difficulty and some neat boss fights, the game is fair in most of the parts but some areas are really rage inducing with multiple enemies and little light. Not the best in the series but still a good place to start.
The first Dark Souls launched the Souls genre on the Xbox platform. A remaster was not unjustified, as the game was getting a little old, both graphically and technically. This polish is salutary: the game is smoother, and it’s a pleasure to rediscover both the base game and the DLCs. The bosses and other enemies are ever more demanding. You have to love dying, over and over again, but the reward is worth it.
After 7 years of the launch of one of the most influential title, creating a subgenre, FromSoftware first Dark Souls is being brought to the 8th Gen console, notably on the Xbox One with all the improvements you’d expect from a remastered .
In fact not only there are a few bug fixes and QoL. but the overall experience is being delivered to a higher fidelity with higher resolution texture and models, and the most awaited 60fps experience, making it an enjoyable journey to Lordran!
