The Action RPG Ballad of Antara reveal its gameplay in the new showcase
Ballad of Antara is the new action RPG by TipsWorks, shown with a new 14-minute gameplay video. In addition, the publisher Infold Games denies the PS5 exclusivity, announcing the release on PC and mobile as well as a F2P.
Ballad of Antara – Action RPG Gameplay Showcase
Infold Games returns after the announcement of Ballad of Antara at the State of Play of 30th May 2024, this time presenting a long gameplay showcase. The new video from 19th September 2024 shows us the world of Ballad of Antara, a fantasy world divided into two realms, one ordinary and the other called Para. In the Para dimension, an ancient power has trapped the essence of life, and it will be up to us to recruit various Emissaries to discover the truth and prevent the cause.
The gameplay showcase seems to be taken from an early stage of the game, where as the Emissary Gesar, we’ll accompany a young girl, who seems to be the key to restore the trapped essence of Life in Para. The Para dimension hides dangerous threats, with fierce enemies featuring an interesting root-themed design.
An action RPG gameplay that certainly seems to align with the soulslike style, offering a dark-themed fantasy world where our skills will be put to the test. As we’ll have to make use of parries and dodges, while attacking at the most opportune moments. It also seems that we should not underestimate even the smallest enemies, as they seem to challenge Gesar multiple times in the video.
Ballad of Antara – The F2P Souls-Like will not be a PS5 exclusive and will release in 2025
Infold Games once again emphasizes that the fantasy action RPG by TipsWorks is not exclusive to PS5. In fact, the game will not only be free-to-play and released on PC, but it also appears that the title will arrive on mobile devices as well, both on iOS and Android. This news is not surprising, especially for those already familiar with the team from their 2020 mobile soulslike, Pascal’s Wager. Presenting yet another game from China with a great potential, much like the popular Black Myth: Wukong by Game Science has recently shown us.
What particularly stands out about Ballad of Antara is not only its rather interesting setting and story, but the decision to assign various classes to the Emissaries. This formula, taken from Pascal’s Wager, seems to have been refined even better in Ballad of Antara. In fact, while Gesar will be the main character, we can have up to 2 other companions in the party, choosing between an agile archer, a warrior wielding a long axe, and a golem acting as a powerful tank.
Moreover, not only Ballad of Antara will be free-to-play, but it will also be playable as a multiplayer in co-op with up to 3 other players. Post-launch support will continue with new content in the form of gameplay areas, stories, missions, and potentially new Emissaries to play with. We also know that the TipsWorks team will be present at Tokyo Game Show 2024, starting this 26th September, during which we might learn more about the game, such as its release date, likely in 2025, and even a Beta that could arrive by the end of 2024.
