Back 4 Blood, the spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead 2, is popular on Steam, with its Early Access Beta hitting almost 100,000 concurrent players.

The Back 4 Blood Early Access Beta took place from August 6 to 9, and it looks like it’s shaping up to be another hit. Check out some gameplay footage from the beta:

Over the weekend, the game has reached a concurrent user peak of 98,024 players, and this is only from the Steam version. Pretty impressive for a game in early access beta.

  Back 4 Blood Open Beta  

The open beta is scheduled to launch August 12th 9PM CEST, and will run until August 16th. It is available on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4.

The open beta gives you access to:

  • PvE (Classic, Survivor, Hard) – Choose one of the 5 Cleaners, one of the immune survivors, and get access to different weapons and items
  • PvP Swarm Mode – Play with or against your friends in Swarm Mode. Switch as a Cleaner and get special perks and up to six different Ridden. Both sides have access to unique weapons, abilities, and specialties.

Cross-gen and cross-play is supported, in case you are planning to play with your friends who are playing on consoles.

 

PC players would have to take note of the Back 4 Blood Open Beta system requirements before joining:

  • CPU Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 7 1800X
  • GPU GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 590
  • RAM 12GB
  • STORAGE 25GB SSD
  • OS WINDOWS 10 64-bit
  • DX DIRECTX 11
   

Players on console do not need an Xbox Live or a Playstation Plus subscription to join.
