Apex Legends Season 23 is finally here. “From the Rift” shakes things up with exciting new features, map updates, new battle passes, and surprises that have the community buzzing. Season 23 is live now on all platforms.
Apex Legends: From the Rift is Season 23 of Respawn’s battle royale, and it introduces the all-new Launch Royale mode. Taking players back to where it began, with original Legends and weapons, Launch Royale delivers the original Apex Legends experience.
Lifeline has a new look and reworked abilities, including her ultimate ability that now drops a 360-degree protective halo. Supports have received tweaks to improve healing and revive speed, we have new Rift Relics, and there are new battle passes for players to earn exclusive rewards.
New Legend and Abilities
From the Rift does not come with a new Legend but rather a rework for Lifeline. The combat medic now has a robotic arm and new abilities to help her better support allies and traverse the map. Lifeline can now grab onto D.O.C., using the drone to glide, and she can also assign D.O.C. to follow a teammate and automatically heal them.
The changes to Lifeline are Respawn’s attempt to make her more aggressive and mobile. Lifeline players will find themselves much more viable throughout matches, particularly with the Halo Shield System, which plants a protective shield around her and her allies while providing healing.
New Launch Royale Game Mode
Launch Royale is a time-limited mode that takes players back to the game’s original Kings Canyon map as it was in 2019. In Launch Royale, characters revert to their original state, with class-based perks removed and the ability to bunny hop and punch boost added.
Those players who want the original experience will find all weapons reverted to their classic forms, complete with attachments. Respawn Entertainment hopes to attract former players to try Season 23, and Launch Royale is the mode to do it.
Season Surprises and Events
Introduced with Apex Legends Season 23, Rift Relics are new cosmic rifts throughout the Outlands. Offering “new and exceptional loot,” players who activate Rift Relics can find an EPG-1 Launcher with infinite ammo, the Bocek bow, Lifesteal hop-up, which heals you with hits, and various Boost Kits. In total, there are over 25 Rift Relics available to find.
From the Rift has a couple of new battle passes. Premium Battle Pass Split 1 offers 60 levels of Legendary Skins, Exotic Shards, and the Reactive Mozambique. The Ultimate Battle Pass grants all the Premium Battle Pass content and more Apex Packs and crafting materials.
Apex Legends: From the Rift is live now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
