Knights and Bikes to release on Nintendo Switch Next Month

Foam Sword’s story-driven adventure, Knights and Bikes, is set for release on the Nintendo Switch February 6th. Having already successfully launched for PlayStation 4 and PC last August, Switch players will now be able to play as Demelza and Nessa, either solo or with a friend, in the action-packed bike-riding, treasure-hunting and coming-of-age adventure. On release the game will cost $19.99, but you can pre-purchase it now for $17.99.


Digital Card Game, Duelyst, from Counterplay Games to be Shutdown February 27th

Duelyst, the 2016 digital card game from Counterplay Games, will be shutdown permanently next month, with the date slated to be February 27th. Announcing the closure on the game’s Steam page, Counterplay Games thanked all players for being a part of the Duelyst family although no reason was given for the shutdown. They did however state they would be offering refunds on all Diamond purchases from December 21st through to January 24th, but you have to get all refund requests in by March 30th for refunds to be honored.


Fallout 76 Wastelanders Expansion Introduces Two New Factions

New screenshots of Fallout 76’s Wastelanders expansion shows two new factions of human NPCs are set to be introduced into the Appalachian wasteland. The first faction; the Settlers are a hard-working and industrious crew who know how to build and run a city. The second faction; the Raiders themselves are no strangers to the wasteland and once called it home and have returned to claim what they believe is theirs. Bethesda have kept the expansion relatively quiet, but have promised new vendors, crafting areas and plenty of NPCs to talk to.


Batman: Arkham Knight Gets New Cosmetic DLC Five Years After Release

Five-year-old Batman: Arkham Knight will get new cosmetic DLC, according to developer Rocksteady Studios. The new DLC will be the Earth 2 Dark Knight Skin and will be made available worldwide for the PlayStation 4 on January 28th. The skin isn’t completely new to the game, as it was originally an exclusive players could redeem from attending a 2015 PlayStation E3 event. Last year it was made available to anyone who owned the “definitive” versions of the Arkham games and now it is being made available to everyone that owns the game on PlayStation.


Square Enix Forces Players to Reconfirm Final Fantasy 7 Remake Pre-Orders

In an unusual move, Square Enix have announced in a statement on its official Facebook Page that anyone who has pre-ordered Final Fantasy 7 remake or collectors edition directly from Square Enix will need to reconfirm their order or risk it being cancelled due to limited availability. Giving no reason other than the fact the game was pushed back from March 3rd to April 10th, Square Enix has urged those who have pre-ordered to check their emails and reconfirm their order. Pre-orders from other retailers will be unaffected.


Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition to Begin Beta Next Month

After the well-received Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition was released last year, Xbox Game Studios have announced a beta period for the upcoming Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition. there will be limited places available for the multiplayer sessions and those invited to play a selected few missions of the campaign. Those wanting to take part are urged to register on the Age of Empires forums and update their “insider settings” before January 28th.


Fans of Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends Find Further Images of Rumored Legend Revenant

Hot on the announcement that the new character to be introduced into Apex Legends for Season 4 will be Forge, fans of Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale have seemingly unearthed another hidden Legend set to be introduced into the game, Revenant. Seemingly found hidden away on the EA Answers website, the picture of Revenant was posted onto Reddit and as of yet, neither EA or Respawn have responded to the rumors meaning we will have to wait to find out if it’s real or fake.


Activision and YouTube Sign New Multi-Year Deal for Exclusive Rights to Pro Esports Livestreaming

After their two-year deal with Twitch for the streaming service to be the exclusive provider of Overwatch League livestreams recently ended, Activision have announced a new multi-year deal with YouTube which will give YouTube exclusive rights for all of Activision’s pro esports leagues and events, including Overwatch League, Hearthstone Esports, World of Warcraft Esports and the new Call of Duty League.


Frame Fatales Returns with Winter Rendition Frost Fatales to Raise Money for Charity

Frost Fatales, the all-women speedrunning event is set to take place from February 23rd to March 1st. The Games Done Quick-affiliated event is a winter rendition of Frame Fatales, an all-woman showcase that first took place in May 2019. Unlike the May event this one will have a charity component and will be raising money for the Malala Fund, a charity that aims to encourage and support education for women around the world. Awesome Games Done Quick, which took place earlier this month, raised a record-breaking $3.1 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.


Hearts of Iron 4: La Resistance Allows Players to Build a Custom Spy Network

Hearts of Iron 4: La Resistance DLC to be released next month. In an already overwhelming game, this new DLC allows players to build their own spy network with procedurally-generated characters that you can get to know. The DLC gives players the opportunity to create their own intelligence agencies, giving them control over everything from custom names and logos to training of the agents. La Resistance is available to purchase now on Steam and is due to be released on February 25th.


Old School Runescape Closes Bounty Hunter Worlds and Reveals Plans to Revamp PvP

Old School Runescape developer Jagex has announced that they will be closing the Bounty Hunter worlds “until further notice”, due to concerns about gold farmers abusing them. In the same statement, Jagex added that they have plans to revamp PvP, stating “it deserves better”. Though they have not mentioned what the plans for PvP are they have revealed that they will present the ideas to the community before moving forward. As for Bounty Hunter, they hope to be able to re-release it in a couple of months with better prevention against boosting.


Exit the Gungeon Now Available for Pre-Orders

Developer Dodge Roll Games has announced that Exit the Gungeon will be getting a PC release via Steam by Spring of 2020. The game was first launched as an Apple Arcade exclusive in October 2019. The title is also set to launch for consoles but it was not mentioned which ones or when it will be launching. Pre-orders of Exit the Gungeon is already available on Steam for $9.99.


GWENT: The Witcher Card Game Lunar New Year Event Ongoing

GWENT: The Witcher Card Game has an ongoing special event to celebrate the new lunar year. CD Projekt Red announced that players will have the opportunity to get gifts, as well as purchase themed items for both PC and iOS. This Lunar New Year Festival will be running up until the 7th of February and players will be able to earn Red Envelops that will come with either cardbacks, borders, portraits, player titles, and resources. The in-game store will also be updated with lunar new year-themed items.


Automachef Year of the Rat Update Now Available

A new update is now available on Automachef as announced by Team17 and Hermes Interactive. The update is in line with the lunar new year which is the Year of the Rat. With this update, the game will be getting three brand new levels that are centered around the Chinese New Year. The game’s menu will also have additional Far Eastern dishes added for both the PC and the Nintendo Switch as well as a brand new machine.


Two New Silent Hill Games are Reportedly in Development

According to Aesthetic Gamer, two new Silent Hill games are reportedly in the works. Aesthetic Gamer is known for accurate game leaks, which gives bearing to this new report. According to his post, one of the games will be a soft reboot of the Silent Hill franchise and the other one will be an episodic experience kind of like the games from Telltale or like Until Dawn. Other than that there are no other information available.


Ciri from The Witcher 3 is Playable in Resident Evil 2

A new mod for Resident Evil 2 will allow players to play as Ciri from The Witcher 3. So instead of playing as Claire Redfield, you will be the heroine Ciri. This is all thanks to the modders Wiwilz. They do note that those interested in doing this must have the fluffyquack’s mod manager to install it. Also, do keep in mind that the rigging of the head mesh for facial animations is still a work-in-progress.


Song of Horror’s Fourth Episode Available on January 30th

Survival- horror game Song of Horror’s fourth episode will be launching on January 30th. This fourth chapter is called The Last Concert and it will be bringing players to the most haunted location in the game, St. Cecilia’s Abbey. This new chapter will take more than 8 hours to finish. Comparing this to the main location of the first episode, it is actually three times bigger. The first Song of Horror episode as well as the second, third and fourth is available on Steam for $7.99 each.


Soulcalibur 6 will be getting Haomaru from Samurai Shodown this Spring

During Evo Japan 2020, it has been announced that Haohmaru from Samurai Shodown will be crossing over to Soulcalibur 6. Haohmaru is the second of the four characters in the second season of the game’s downloadable content. A reveal trailer has been shared, and we get to see Haohmaru taking on Soulcalibur’s Mitsurugi. The launch date of Haohmaru for Soulcalibur 6 is by Spring of this year, no specific date has been given as of yet.


A Fortnite and Birds of Prey Crossover Event Could be Coming

A Birds of Prey crossover event with Fortnite could be arriving soon. The speculation began with a back-and-forth with Fortnite and Warner Bros. on Twitter. The original tweet came from the official Warner Bros. account with Fortnite replying to the thread with “See you soon Harley!”, and Warner Bros. Pictures replying back, saying, “Can’t Wait” with a kiss emoji. No official announcements were made, but the timing seems to be right for a new crossover event.


Street Fighter V: Champion Edition Won’t be Launching for the Switch

It looks like the Street Fighter V: Champion Edition won’t be coming to the Nintendo Switch after all. EB Games Canada made the clarification with a new post saying that the “tweet advertising Street Fighter V: Champion Edition for the Nintendo Switch” was “inaccurate and posted in error”. Yoshinori Ono, a longtime Street Fighter producer even said that “Such item does not exist right now.” The Street Fighter V: Champion Edition will be available on the PlayStation 4 on February 14.


The Turing Test Arrives on the Switch This February

First-person puzzle video game from Bulkhead Interactive called The Turing Test is coming to the Nintendo Switch this February 7th. The game is available for $19.99 dollars, €19.99 euros, or £14.99 pounds. The game will bring players to one of Jupiter’s moons called Europa. You will be playing as Ava Turing who is an engineer from the International Space Agency. Your mission is to discover what has happened to the crew that had been stationed there as they seem to have disappeared.


Samurai Shodown New DLC Characters Revealed

The next DLC characters of Samurai Shodown has been revealed in a new trailer. The two characters are Songetsu Kazama and Iroha. Songetsu Kazama has the ability to call upon water elements. He is the sibling of Kazuki Kazama. The other character is Iroha who is a Japanese maid. She wields curved butterfly swords that can slice opponents to ribbons. No launch window has been given for the two characters right now.
