Fallen Fates (FF) is the new action RPG being developed by the Hibernian Workshop team. A French development team founded in 2017 with the Kickstarter project Dark Devotion. A game that saw its official launch in 2019 with a Souls-like metroidvania. And the launch of the roguelite Astral Ascent in 2023.
And FF offers an action RPG adventure with top-down view. Using the 2D art in pixel art by Alexander Magnat. Taking us into an action-packed fantasy world where we’ll uncover the mystery of the crystals fallen from the sky. Fallen Fates: Announced the new Action RPG from Hibernian Workshop
With a surprise on May 28, 2025, the Hibernian Workshop team returns with news of their next project. Announcing Fallen Fates, an ARPG that takes us to a fantasy world, with the classic 2D pixel art style already seen in Astral Ascent.
Announcement which the team accompanies with the Reveal Trailer. Giving us a look at the fantastic 2D pixel art as we follow the adventures of Arven. Who will witness a mysterious rain of crystals over the lands of Tellus. Triggering destruction and the appearance of monsters. With an unlikely alliance to protect what’s left.
Fallen Fates: What we know so far
The Hibernian Workshop team, with the official reveal of the game, leaves us with some details. An adventure where we play as the hunter Arven, discovering the world of Tellus in an action RPG that offers:
- A Body, Two Entities: We’ll play as Arven, a Shadow Hunter, allied with Etheri Kat. An alliance perhaps destined by fate where the two will learn to rely on each other to uncover the mystery behind the crystals and Kat herself.
- Gameplay Style: By combining Arven’s physical abilities and Kat’s magical skills, we can customize our playstyle. With upgrades, abilities, and mechanics to create your preferred build.
- An Unforgettable Journey: A journey where we’ll meet and uncover the fates of various unique characters. With powerful allies and fierce enemies waiting for us. All told through pixel art cutscenes.
Reveal of the game that the team accompanies with the announcement of the Kickstarter Campaign. With the campaign set to open in September 2025. The team will soon share further information about FF and the campaign goals. And already a small sneak peek in a DLC where you can play as Arven in Astral Ascent.
