Resident Evil 7 Biohazard supports cross play and cross save, but will it support cross buy?

Capcom has confirmed that a cross save support will be available for the game Resident Evil 7 for Xbox One and PC. This interesting news came from a Japanese Resident Evil 7 magazine called Dengeki and was confirmed by IGN.

The Xbox Play Anywhere campaign supports cross play, as well as cross save, across platforms, and in this case “the Windows Store version can share play data with the Xbox version” of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. “Play Anywhere is also a part of the cross platform multiplayer where PC & Xbox One players can play with each other.” Meaning in multiplayer cases, you will be able to play across platforms, someone playing the same game on PC can compete with someone using Xbox One. It would seem like a 2-for-1 deal if this is available for cross buy.

Usually, cross play and cross saves are part of cross buys, it would make more sense if that is the case. However, cross play and cross save may not be available for cross buy in this case. Would you purchase two copies of the same game for different platforms? It may seem impractical. It is much preferred to have to purchase one copy that can be played on both your PC and Xbox One platforms. But that has not confirmed as of yet.

Hopefully, news confirming the cross buy will be available soon.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is a multiplatform game that is available first on PlayStation 4 then on PC and Xbox One. It can support HDR as well as 4K. The game is launching in January of 2017.
