The Ni No Kuni 2 Revenant Kingdom Battle System has seen some changes. This has been reported by IGN who was able to play four hours of the game recently.
Although this time around, the absolutely talented Studio Ghibli is not part of the production IGN stated that “developer Level-5 has continually given us confidence that this follow up is in good hands”.
IGN also mentioned that “Revenant Kingdom’s combat is a frantic and constantly entertaining mix of the Tales series, Kingdom Hearts and Pikmin.” This new sequel actually got rid of the previous Familiars and replaced it with Hiddledies. These absolutely cute elemental sprites come in groups. Players must approach them in order to take advantage of their abilities that range from healing, protection, and attacks. Their presence gives a very interesting mix to the game’s strategy and battle system. Battles are real time and players are able to have full control over any of the current battle players available but for the two other, AI does a great job in handling them.
Another thing that was noticeable in the game was their Kingdom Building which is a new major system added to the gameplay. Players must rebuild a complete empire starting from the ground up. A lot of choices are available for this as well.
Ni No Kuni Revenant Kingdom 2 will launch on March 23 available for PC and PlayStation 4.
